£17,000 donated to club

The Fleet Trust are delighted to announce that they have just made the largest single donation to the football club since it was founded some five odd years ago.

A cheque for £17,000.00 was handed over to David Davis for use on several projects that we have been discussing over the past few months.

The Fleet Trust are delighted to announce that they have just made the largest single donation to the football club since it was founded some five odd years ago.

A cheque for £17,000.00 was handed over to David Davis for use on several projects that we have been discussing over the past few months.

In the recent survey carried out at the ground it will be no surprise to many of you that the lowest scores came out against the toilets facilities and the food.

Work will soon start on erecting a roof on the gent’s toilet behind the main stand and the addition of hand basins and dryers will complete the make-over. The gent’s toilet near the home fans entrance will also get some wash basins and dryers.

It has been decided to have in-house catering and work has been started on this project already. Some catering equipment has already been purchased and recruitment of new staff has started. I am sure you will agree that this is a real step in the right direction; I even heard a rumour that pukka pies may be on the menu!

Last but not least we were all hoping to use a large amount of the money to get the stand roofs painted. We thought that a quote received from a local contractor had solved this problem but his quote when thoroughly investigate was for one roof only. So we are looking for help with this. The idea is get all three roof surfaces painted and repaired, so that the space can then be sold as advertising space, thus bringing in more revenue for the club.  So the billion dollar question is can you help. Do you own your own company, have excellent contacts that you could use to help .If you would like more details please contact me or David. It would make such a difference to the look and feel of the place if this work could be done.

This is not the end of the work planned to take place at the ground. It is hoped that much of the funding for future projects will be financed by the new lottery that was launched at the ground on the 18th October.

The lottery is going to be called “Goalden Gate Superdraw.” And we would like to start with a target of 1000 members. If this was achieved the club would receive £23,400 annually, which will go towards a family enclosure, new toilet block for our lady supporters and a new electronic scoreboard.

Entry to draw will cost £1.00 per week or £4.34 per month standing order. Members are not restricted to one entry a week. If the payment is not received then the member's numbers are simply withdrawn prior to the draw taking place. Agents can collect door to door or at work, cash can be paid either weekly, fortnightly or even a year in advance.

Members will receive their membership card through the post to their home address together with their 10 unique numbers for the main draw and their birth date draw number i.e. 12/05/67 which will be entered into the accumulator jackpot each week whilst payment is received.

Members 10 unique numbers will be entered into the main draw for a weekly cash prize of £1000.00, 1 x £150.00, 1 x 100.00, 1 x £75.00, 2 x £50.00, 4 x £25.00, 10 x £10.00 and 30 x £5 prizes.

The member’s birth date will be entered into an accumulator jackpot starting at £100.00 if the birthdates drawn have not been selected by any of the paying members the prize will increase by £100.00 per week until it has been won when it will revert back to £100.00. The accumulator jackpot could rise to £5000, when it must be won. When this prize increases it is a great tool to collectors if they are having a problem extracting payments from members every week.

But that’s not all in May 2009 there will be one off draw for a donated prize of £10,000.00. The number of weeks’ you pay into the draw will correspond with the number of chances you will have in the draw in May, so rewarding regular paying members.

No member need claim the prize, prizes are sent automatically. It is preferable to send winning cheques to the participating clubs to deliver to their winning member(s), so we could make presentations on the pitch.

The draw takes place every Monday.

Collections from members will be the responsibility of the club which is where the fleet trust comes in as we have offered to help with some of the administration work. KSA will be responsible for sending each participating club weekly collection sheets for each round which will include the name and address of each member. If you would like to help with this or would like to become a collector and enlist, family, friends, neighbours, or even workmates the collectors will be required to complete their sheet with the amount collected from each member.
